A common problem in (sport)horses is tendon injuries, strains of ligaments, or ligaments. It's important to recognize early signs of a problem with the tendons or ligaments to minimize damage. Proper treatment and management will lead to a better recovery.

After your veterinarian's examination and diagnosis, you'll enter the acute phase, during which box rest, cold hosing down the injury, walking, and/or anti-inflammatories/painkillers are often prescribed. A follow-up plan will be developed depending on the type of injury.

Many treatments are now available, such as PRP injections, shockwave therapy, stem cell therapy, special hoof care, and laser therapy. It's important to stimulate blood flow to the tendons to ensure the supply of new nutrients and promote tendon repair. A good supplement can provide your horse or pony with the right nutrients to optimally support recovery during rehabilitation.

In case of a tendon injury or strain, the challenge is to optimize the formation of scar tissue (new connective tissue) and regain the properties of "strength and elasticity".

How the ingredients of Duval TendiFlex work

    • Collagen → provides structure, cohesion, elasticity, and strength to various types of connective tissue, including cartilage, tendons, and ligaments. Collagen helps rebuild cells.
    • Natural MSM → has been added to promote collagen synthesis and strengthen the strength of tendons and ligaments and to support the regenerative capacity (repair) of cartilage.
    • Turmeric → has a strong anti-inflammatory effect on joint pain and wear and tear. Damage to a tendon causes inflammation, heat, and swelling. It's important to minimize inflammation. Because turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties, this spice is recommended during treatment or for the prevention of tendon injuries. Turmeric can also be beneficial for other organs.
    • Lithothamium → is a plant-based source of calcium from red algae and promotes the maintenance of healthy bones and joints and contains highly absorbable minerals such as calcium and magnesium in a good ratio.
    • Vitamin C → is a strong antioxidant and promotes the body’s own production of collagen and new tissue.
    • Green-lipped mussel → contains important fatty acids such as DHA and all glycosaminoglycans that have an important and proven function for the joints.
